History
Higashi-Sapporo Station opened on 10 June 1976 on the Sapporo Municipal Subway's Tōzai Line, in the same opening event as the line's initial section between Kotoni and Shiroishi. The station — whose name means "East Sapporo" — is located in Shiroishi ward of Sapporo and carries the station number T12. Standard side-platform layout with no through-running services has remained unchanged since opening, and the station has continued to operate as an ordinary intermediate stop on the Tōzai Line. Its surface surroundings are dominated by the Sapporo Convention Center, which sits adjacent to the station.
