History
Jieitai-Mae Station opened on 1971-12-16 with the inauguration of the Sapporo Municipal Subway Nanboku Line from Kita-Nijūyojō to Makomanai, and carries the line number N15. It is one of only four above-ground stations on the network, all on the southern Nanboku Line. A connecting track south of the station feeds the South Train Depot, so several morning trains from Asabu terminate here before being returned to the depot for stabling. Until 2014-09-14 a "Nanboku Line Crew District" office was attached, after which crew change-overs moved to Ōdōri Station. Platform-edge doors entered service on 2013-02-19, and a 2015–16 programme renewed elevators and seismically strengthened the structure.
