History
Shinkawachō tram stop opened on 29 June 1913 on the Hakodate City Tram Yunokawa Line. The station, numbered DY15, has two opposed side platforms arranged in point symmetry around the intersection. The outbound platform is fitted with mercury-vapour lighting, and rubber guide-pole posts are installed 10 m ahead of the stop to prevent motor vehicles from striking the platform.
