History
Ōkawadai Station opened on 21 October 1958 as a stop on the Japanese National Railways' Tsugaru Line in what is now Imabetsu, Aomori Prefecture. With the JNR split on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR East. Heavy rain on 3 August 2022 damaged track facilities between Kanita and Minmaya, suspending operations through the station; a replacement bus service began on 22 August. The administrative depot was moved to Aomori Station on 1 June 2019. On 10 June 2025 JR East and Imabetsu reached agreement to close the station on 1 April 2027.
