History
Arihata Station opened on 10 June 1946 as a station on the Ōminato Line, operated by Japanese Government Railways. With the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 it came under the operational control of JR East. The station sits 36.0 km from the line's southern terminus at Noheji and has a single ground-level side platform serving one bidirectional track. There is no station building — only a small rain shelter on the platform — and the station is unattended. It serves the town of Yokohama in Kamikita District, Aomori Prefecture.
