History
Gōsawa Station opened on 1959-11-25 as a stop on the Japanese National Railways Tsugaru Line in the village of Yomogita, Aomori Prefecture. It came under JR East's operational control at the 1987-04-01 privatisation. When Kanita Station was contracted out on 2019-06-01, management of Gōsawa shifted to Aomori Station. The station has two opposing ground-level side platforms connected by a level crossing; the passing loop was added to support traffic from the Tsugaru-Kaikyō Line opening. The Eki-net Q Chiket service was extended to the unstaffed station on 2024-10-01, and it sits 21.1 km from Aomori on the Tsugaru Line.
