History
Tsugaru-Miyata Station opened on November 25, 1959 as a Japanese National Railways stop on the Tsugaru Line in what is now Aomori City, 9.7 kilometres from the line origin at Aomori Station. With the privatisation of JNR on April 1, 1987 it passed to JR East. The station has never had a building — only a small weather shelter on its single side platform — and remains unattended, managed remotely from Aomori. JR East rolled out Eki-net Q-Chike ticketing here on October 1, 2024.
