History
Gonōkōmae Station traces its history to 1935-04-13, when it opened on the Tsugaru Railway Line in Goshogawara, Aomori, under the original name Ichinotsubo. Operations were suspended on 1941-08-01 and resumed on 1955-10-20. The stop was renamed Gonōkōmae on 1974-04-01 after the adjacent Goshogawara Agricultural High School. A new station building made from local hiba cypress was completed in December 2010 and was constructed by Tsugaru Railway staff using reclaimed rails. From 2024-06-01 a naming-rights sponsorship added the sub-name 'Seikatsu shi-tsuzukerareru Aomori ni' (T-Seed Garden).

Notes
The current depot was built in 2010 by Tsugaru Railway's own staff from reclaimed rail, using locally sourced hiba cypress.
