History

Togawa (Aomori) opened on 25 April 1961 on the Tsugaru Railway Line in Goshogawara, Aomori. On 1 June 2024 the comedian Ōta Travel became the station's individual naming-rights partner under a sub-name rights scheme, giving the station the supplementary name 'Tetsudō Geinin Ōta Travel'. The station has a single side platform serving bidirectional traffic and is unstaffed. The platform and station building previously sloped inward, but this was corrected in around 2015.
