History

Onoekōkōmae Station opened on 1 April 1999 on the Kōnan Railway Kōnan Line in the city of Hirakawa, Aomori Prefecture, timed to coincide with the opening day of the adjacent Aomori Prefectural Onoe Integrated High School. The station sits 12.5 km from the southern terminus at Hirosaki and exists primarily to serve students travelling to the school after which it is named. It consists of a single side platform with no station building beyond a small shelter, and is unstaffed. From 1 October 2021 the station has participated in the Kōnan Railway's commemorative stamp programme, with its stamp held at Kuroishi Station.
