History
Nisato (Aomori) opened on 7 September 1927 as a halt on the Konan Railway Kōnan Line, in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, and was upgraded to a full station on 18 September 1951. Freight handling began on 15 July 1959 and ended on 1 October 1971. The station was contract-managed from 3 October 1968, made unstaffed on 1 July 1972, contract-managed again from 1 April 1973, and finally became permanently unstaffed on 16 November 1987. The station building was rebuilt in November 2011. Station number KK 04.

A JNR Class 8620 No. 48640 steam locomotive, long preserved at Ajigasawa town hall, was moved to the station precincts on 14 November 2011 by the NPO Gono-sen Activation Club for static display; the unveiling was held on 4 December 2011.
