History

Shukugawara Station is an unstaffed Kōnan Railway Ōwani Line stop in the town of Ōwani, Aomori Prefecture, 0.9 kilometres from the southern terminus at Ōwani Station. It opened on 26 January 1952 with the Hirosaki Electric Railway-built Ōwani Line and passed to Kōnan Railway on 1 October 1970. On 7 January 2002 the station was relocated 200 metres towards Sabaishi Station. The station has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and only a weather shelter rather than a full station building. The surroundings are rural farmland in the Tsugaru basin.
