History
Tsugaru-Yunosawa Station opened on 1 June 1949 as a station on the northern Ōu Main Line under Japan National Railways (JNR), in what is now the city of Hirakawa in Aomori Prefecture. It has been operated without staff since 1 October 1971. Following the 1 April 1987 privatisation of JNR, the station came under the control of East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The platforms sit on an embankment with the station building at a lower level; the two opposed side platforms are not connected to each other, and each has its own ground-level exit. The station is 422.3 km from the line's starting point at Fukushima.
