History
Kami-Futada Station opened on 26 November 1956 as a Japanese National Railways (JNR) stop on the Oga Line, serving the village of Tennō in Akita Prefecture. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR East. It consists of a single island platform connected to the unstaffed station building by a footbridge, and the surrounding area includes Katagami City Hall and the Tennō roadside station.
