History
Tsuchizaki Station is located in the Tsuchizaki Minato district of Akita City, Akita Prefecture, and is operated by JR East with a JR Freight depot also based here. It serves the Ōu Main Line 292.3 kilometres from Fukushima, and Oga Line trains continue through Oiwake to terminate at this station as well. The stop opened on 21 October 1902 and was absorbed into JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways. A 1.8-kilometre freight branch line formerly ran from here to Akita Port Station. The platforms are two unnumbered opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge, and the station is staffed.
