History
Kebaraichi Station opened on 20 December 1961 as a small unstaffed halt on the Yamada Line, serving the rural area near Miyako in Iwate Prefecture. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, operation of the station was transferred to JR East. The station has never had a proper station building; passengers wait in a shelter built directly on the single side platform. The site is administered remotely from Morioka Station, and eKi-Net Q-Chike electronic ticketing was introduced on 1 October 2024.
