History
Matsukura Station opened on 15 June 1945 on the Kamaishi Line in the city of Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture. It has one side platform serving a single bi-directional track and is unattended. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station was transferred to East Japan Railway Company. It lies 83.2 kilometres from the line's starting point at Hanamaki Station.
