History
Kosagawa Station opened on 15 November 1921 as a station on the Japanese Government Railways Rikuusai Line in what is now the city of Nikaho, Akita Prefecture. On 20 April 1924 it was switched to the JGR Uetsu Main Line. After the JGR became the Japan National Railways following World War II, the station was absorbed into the East Japan Railway Company network upon the privatisation of the JNR on 1 April 1987. The station consists of two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by a footbridge, and is unattended. It is located 194.8 kilometres along the line from its terminus at Niitsu Station.
