History
Arikabe Station opened on 1924-10-16 on the Tōhoku Main Line in what is now Kurihara, Miyagi Prefecture. It is located 437.8 rail kilometres from the line's terminus at Tokyo Station. The station has two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by a footbridge and is unattended. It passed to JR East at the 1987-04-01 privatisation of the Japanese National Railways.
