History
Usugi Station opened on 1 September 1965 on the Rikuu East Line, situated 71.5 kilometres from the line's eastern terminus at Kogota in the town of Mogami, Yamagata. The unstaffed station consists of a single side platform serving one bidirectional track, with a small station building set directly on the platform. Operations transferred to East Japan Railway Company (JR East) on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways, and the station has remained unstaffed ever since.
