History
Fuya Station is an Uetsu Main Line stop in the city of Murakami, Niigata Prefecture, operated by JR East. The station opened on 31 July 1924 as part of the line's extension between Murakami and Nezugaseki. It came under JR East at the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station is unstaffed but retains an automatic ticket vending machine, and lies 95.9 kilometers from the line's starting point at Niitsu Station. Its layout combines one side platform and one island platform, although only one face of the island is regularly used.
