History
Gatsugi Station is an Uetsu Main Line stop in the city of Murakami, Niigata Prefecture, operated by JR East. The station opened on 31 July 1924 as part of the early extension of the line in northern Niigata, and was absorbed into the JR East network at the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. It is an unattended station with two opposing ground-level side platforms linked by a footbridge, lying 92.8 kilometers from the line's starting point at Niitsu Station.
