History
Yokokura Station opened on 1 July 1986 with the inaugural operations of the third-sector Abukuma Express, which took over the former JNR Maruko Line. The unattended single-platform station serves a sparsely populated rural area on the eastern bank of the Abukuma River in the city of Kakuda, Miyagi, 45.2 rail kilometres from the Fukushima terminus. Nearby roadways include National Route 113 and National Route 349. The station retains its original simple shelter and has no station building.
