History
Kamihobara Station opened on 1 July 1988 on the Abukuma Express Line in the city of Date, Fukushima Prefecture, on the day the entire line was inaugurated as a successor to the former JNR Marumori Line. The stop sits 11.5 km from the line’s starting point at Fukushima, between Takako and Hobara stations. It has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and is unattended. The surrounding area is largely rice paddies and farmland, and the town promotes the area with the slogan “paddy-channel paradise”. In fiscal 2015 the station averaged 227 boarding passengers per day; in fiscal 2016, 222.
