History
Takako Station opened on 1 July 1988 on the Abukuma Express Line in the city of Date, Fukushima, the day the line was inaugurated as a successor to the JNR Marumori Line. It sits 10.1 km from the line’s start at Fukushima, between Mukaisenoue and Kamihobara. The station has two elevated opposed side platforms and no station building, and is unattended. The surrounding area was farmland later developed into the Takako Hightown housing estate. Despite this, the station serves a small population; in fiscal 2015 it averaged 63 boarding passengers per day. Nearby attractions include Takako Lake, one of the Takako twenty scenic views.
