History

Hirano Station opened on 20 June 1925 as Myōjinmachi Station (明神町駅), an intermediate stop on the Iizaka Dentetsu electric railway that became the Iizaka Line. It was renamed Hirano on 15 August 1927. The station is operated by Fukushima Kōtsū and is located 6.2 km from the Fukushima terminus of the Iizaka Line.
