History
Fukushima Gakuin-mae Station opened on 11 March 2000 on the Abukuma Express Line in Senoue-chō, in the city of Fukushima, making it the newest station on the line. Built directly above a municipal road, with the platform raised on a rise of land, it sits 6.5 km from the line’s starting point at Fukushima. The station is a ground-level single side platform serving one bi-directional track and is unattended. It serves the Miyashiro campus of Fukushima Gakuin University and its junior college, located about 100 metres away. In fiscal 2016 the station averaged 326 boarding passengers per day. The town promotes the area with the slogan “city of education and culture”.
