History
Kamimatsukawa Station opened on 10 January 1964 on the Fukushima Kōtsū Iizaka Line in Minamisawamata, in the city of Fukushima, Fukushima Prefecture. The station sits 3.7 km from the Iizaka Line’s starting point at Fukushima and has a single ground-level side platform serving one bi-directional track. Three-car trains close two of the nine doors on the Fukushima-side cars, since the platform was built for the line’s original two-car operations. The ticket window is staffed during weekday mornings and evenings, and on weekend daytimes. Facilities include a ticket vending machine, NORUCA-compatible simple gates and a waiting room. In fiscal 2010 the station recorded 364 boarding passengers per day.

Notes
On three-car trains, two of the nine doors stay closed at Kamimatsukawa because the platform was built for the line’s original two-car formations and never extended.
