History
Izumi Station opened on 4 March 1940 as a station of the Fukushima Electric Railway (Fukushima Denki Tetsudō), the predecessor of today's Fukushima Kōtsū Iizaka Line. It is located 3.0 km from the Iizaka Line's Fukushima terminus.
