History

Yoshida Station opened on 1912-08-25 and was renamed Nishi-Yoshida Station on 1913-04-20, reverting to its original name on 1959-10-01. The station serves the junction of the Yahiko Line, which terminates at Yahiko 4.9 kilometres to the east, and the Echigo Line, which runs 49.8 kilometres west to Kashiwazaki. JR East assumed operations on 1987-04-01 at JNR privatisation. The platform layout consists of one side platform and two island platforms serving five tracks, linked by a footbridge, with a staffed Midori no Madoguchi ticket office in the station building.
