History

Dōjima Station opened on 1 November 1934 on the Ban'etsu West Line in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, and now stands 70.1 kilometers from the line's starting point at Kōriyama. The stop has just one side platform serving a single bi-directional track, with no station building of any kind — passengers wait beside the platform itself. It came under JR East's control with the 1 April 1987 privatization of Japanese National Railways and remains an unstaffed flag-stop served by selected local trains on the line's heavily rural Aizu-Wakamatsu–Kitakata section.
