History
Negishi Station opened on 1 November 1934 as a passenger-only intermediate stop on the Tadami Line between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Aizu-Yanaizu. It passed to JR East at privatisation on 1 April 1987. The station has no station building, only a narrow enclosed waiting room set in the middle of its single platform, and is managed remotely from Aizu-Wakamatsu.

Notes
Because the Negishi Line near Yokohama also has a Negishi Station, tickets issued from this Negishi are stamped "(只) 根岸" — the parenthetical "(只)" identifying the Tadami-Line station.
