History

Miharu Station opened on 21 July 1914 in the town of Miharu, Tamura District, Fukushima Prefecture, on what is now the Ban'etsu East Line. It sits 73.7 rail kilometers from the line's official starting point at Iwaki. The station has a single island platform connected to its building by an underground passage, and a staffed Midori no Madoguchi ticket office. With the 1 April 1987 privatization of the Japanese National Railways, the station was absorbed into the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) network. In fiscal 2018 the station was used by an average of 870 passengers a day (boarding passengers only). It serves the Miharu town hall and post office area.
