History
Kōriyamatomita Station opened on 1 April 2017 as a new commuter stop on the Banetsu West Line, 3.4 km from the line's official starting point at Kōriyama Station. The station was announced by JR East on 15 September 2015 and built during fiscal 2015 at a construction cost of approximately 2 billion yen, borne in full by the city of Kōriyama. Designed as an unstaffed stop with a single side platform serving a bidirectional track, it accommodates six-car formations under a three-car-length roof. From opening day it has been served by 18 northbound and 19 southbound trains daily and was projected to handle about 1,000 passengers per day.

Notes
The 2 billion yen construction cost was paid entirely by the city of Kōriyama rather than by JR East.
