History
Mōgi Station opened on 21 July 1914 on what is now the Ban'etsu East Line, 79.8 rail kilometres from the line's starting point at Iwaki. The Japanese reading of the name was changed from "Mōki" to "Mōgi" on 16 January 1950. Freight handling ended in September 1972 and parcel service in February 1984. The station was absorbed into JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways, and was de-staffed in March 1989 when the Ban'etsu East Line was equipped with CTC; ticket-sales support from Kōriyama Station ended in March 1993. Suica became usable in March 2009, and management transferred to Kōriyama Station in April 2016.
