History
Yabukami Station traces back to a temporary halt opened by the Japanese National Railways on 1 March 1951 along the initial western section of the Tadami Line between Koide and Ōshirakawa, which was upgraded to a full station on 1 October 1951. The station passed to JR East upon the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The present facility consists of a single ground-level side platform serving one bidirectional track, with a wooden waiting room on the west side of the line and no toilets; the station is unstaffed and is administered from Echigo-Yuzawa Station.
