History
Satoshiraishi Station opened on December 4, 1934 in the town of Asakawa, Fukushima Prefecture, on the JNR Suigun Line that runs between Mito and Iwaki-Tanagura. The station was absorbed into the JR East network on April 1, 1987 with the privatization of the Japanese National Railways, and is currently 100.0 rail kilometers from the official starting point of the line at Mito. It is an unstaffed station consisting of one side platform serving a single bi-directional track, and serves a sparsely-populated rural area of the Suigun Line near National Route 118.
