History
Noto-Ninomiya Station opened on 10 February 1960 as a petitioned station on the JNR Nanao Line, between Yoshikawa and Tokuda in what is now Nakanoto, Ishikawa. Local funds covered the construction cost in full, and the Railway Welfare Association handled operations under contract for the first years. The station became unstaffed on 15 March 1972, and with the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR West. The present wooden single-storey station building, which doubles as a local specialty display hall, was completed on 26 November 1992. ICOCA contactless tickets became usable on 13 March 2021.
