History
Shinano-Shiratori Station opened on 19 November 1925 as a halt of the private Iiyama Railway. It was upgraded to a station on 23 October 1928. When the Iiyama Railway was nationalised on 1 June 1944 the station was abolished, but was reopened as a provisional boarding stop on 1 June 1946 and re-upgraded to a station on 28 January 1950. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 it came under JR East. A new station building was completed on 12 December 2008. The station is now a simplified-agency stop with tickets sold by a Sakae Village contractor.
