History
Wakaguri Station opened on 5 November 1922 as a station of the Kurobe Railway. On 1 January 1943, the wartime consolidation of Toyama prefectural railways into Toyama Electric Railway (renamed Toyama Chihō Railway) brought it into the Kurobe Line. On 11 November of the same year, the former Kurobe Railway segment completed its 600 V → 1500 V voltage upgrade and platform improvements, and through-running from Dentetsu-Toyama began. The station has a single side platform with a wooden station building, is unstaffed, and retains traces of its former freight siding.
