History
Sasadaira Station is on the Kurobe Gorge Railway main line in Kurobe, Toyama Prefecture. The line opened on 16 November 1953 after Kansai Electric Power obtained a regional railway licence, and the operation passed to the newly formed Kurobe Gorge Railway on 4 May 1971, which began services on 1 July of that year. Sasadaira is a Kansai Electric-only stop for most of the year and is closed to general passengers; an exception is the mid-April to early-May shoulder season, when heavy snow forces ordinary trains to terminate here rather than continuing to Keyakidaira. The single hillside platform has a public toilet.

Notes
For a brief window in mid-April to early May, when snow blocks the line further upstream, Sasadaira temporarily opens to passengers as the seasonal terminus.
