History
Shinano-Takehara Station opened on 28 April 1927 as Takehara Station on what is now the Nagano Electric Railway Nagano Line, and was renamed to its present name on 16 June 1932. The unstaffed ground-level station sits 29.3 kilometres from the line terminus at Nagano Station and serves the city of Nakano in Nagano Prefecture. It has two opposed side platforms with no numbering and is operated by the private railway operator Nagano Electric Railway. The structure is modest, reflecting the local nature of services that call there.
