History
Imaichi Station opened on 1 June 1890 on what is today the Nikkō Line in the city of Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, and is operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It lies 33.9 kilometres from the line's starting point at Utsunomiya. With the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR East, and a new station building was completed in 2013. The station has a single island platform serving two tracks, connected to the staffed station building by a footbridge.
