History
Sakaemachi Station opened on 16 March 2019 on Toyama Chihō Railway's Fujikoshi Line, between Inarimachi and Fujikoshi. It was added in response to local demand and the opening of the Toyama Prefectural University Nursing School next to Toyama Prefectural Central Hospital, which supplied the station's secondary name 'Kenritsu Chūō Byōin-guchi'. The Hokuriku-Shin'etsu District Transport Bureau authorised the new station on 10 August 2018; construction cost roughly 65 million yen and the operator projected about 200 daily users. The unattended station has one ground-level side platform sixty metres long, fully roofed, with a barrier-free sloped entrance. It was the operator's first new station since Shin-Kurobe in 2015.

The station was funded partly to serve students at the newly established Toyama Prefectural University School of Nursing, which sits adjacent to Toyama Prefectural Central Hospital.
