History
Kōnoyama Station opened on 15 August 1934 as an unstaffed halt on the Karasuyama Line in present-day Nasukarasuyama, Tochigi Prefecture. Built as a simple infill stop late in the line's construction, the station has never had a station building — only a weather shelter built into its single platform, which serves the line's single track. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station came under JR East ownership, managed from Hōshakuji at the line's southern end. On 14 March 2009 it was incorporated into the Tōkyō Metropolitan suburban zone.
