History
Aburaden Station opened on 29 December 1900 as a station of the Chūetsu Railway in what is now Tonami, Toyama Prefecture. The Chūetsu Railway was nationalised on 1 September 1920, and on 1 August 1942 the Takaoka–Jōhana segment was redesignated as the Jōhana Line. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1970 and the station became unstaffed on 1 April 1984. Control passed to JR West with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and a new station building was inaugurated on 25 December 1989. Today the station has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track.
