History
Kamihori Station opened on 25 April 1921 with the inauguration of the Toyama Prefectural Railway between Minami-Toyama and Kamitaki, in what is now the city of Toyama. The line and station passed to Toyama Chihō Railway through the 1 January 1943 corporate merger and were initially placed on the Tateyama Line, then reassigned to the Kamitaki Line on 1 April 1969 when route names were reorganised. Freight handling ended on 1 April 1970. The station retains its original wooden building from 1921 and has a single side platform; a second track and platform formerly used for passing trains have been removed, with the former platform footprint still visible.
