History

Fubasami Station opened on 1 June 1890 in what is now the city of Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, and is served by the Nikkō Line, 22.4 kilometres from Utsunomiya. The station came under the control of JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways. It has two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by a footbridge and is unattended. The site sits along the Cedar Avenue of Nikkō, a historic tree-lined approach to the Tōshō-gū shrine complex.
