History
Awagasaki Station is a station of the Hokuriku Railroad Asanogawa Line in the town of Uchinada, Ishikawa Prefecture. The Asanogawa Electric Railway opened the line between Shin-Susaki and Awagasaki-Kaigan (both since closed) on 14 July 1929; the station served that segment, although the present article notes that the station's precise opening date is uncertain and may post-date the 1 March 1952 Hokuriku Railroad merger. The station has a single ground-level side platform serving one bi-directional track and is unattended. The platform was only 33 metres long, leaving the rearmost door of 8000-series trains beyond it, until a December 2008 extension cantilevered over the Ōno River allowed all doors to open as at other stations.
