History

Isobe Station opened on 10 May 1925 as a station of the Asanogawa Electric Railway. When the Hokuriku Railroad absorbed the Asanogawa Electric Railway on 1 October 1945 it became a station on the Hokuriku Railroad Asanogawa Line.

Isobe is the nearest station to Kanazawa Stadium (Kanazawa Go-Go Curry Stadium); however Zweigen Kanazawa, which uses it as their home ground, has since 2024 asked away supporters not to use Isobe owing to the cramped and unsafe nature of the station and its surroundings, instead reserving it for residents along the line.
